Q: Can diabetics take Hydralyte?

Hydralyte contains 1.5g glucose per 100ml (1.5%). This is a small amount of glucose and is considered safe as part of an overall daily diet. When unwell with diarrhoea or vomiting, it is important to supply the body with some glucose, even for people with diabetes. Hydralyte provides glucose and electrolytes. Blood glucose levels should be monitored at this time – consult your doctor if unsure.


Q: Can Hydralyte be taken during pregnancy?

Hydralyte is considered safe during pregnancy.

The powder formulation is preservative free. The ready made formulations contain preservatives - Potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.

Q: Is Hydralyte free from fructose?

There is no added fructose. Natural flavours in the powder formulations may contain minute quantities of fructose. This is likely to contribute less than 5 mg fructose per 200 ml prepared solution.


Q: Does Hydralyte contain the artificial sweeteners saccharin, aspartame or phenylalanine?
